I have always walked the line between being creative and logical, and after seven years of directly working with teenagers and kids, I realized I'd much rather be sitting in front of a screen all day. Jokes aside, I feel that I have finally found a field that encourages me to use my logical brain and be creative. Taking the Technical Web Designer certificate at BCIT opened my eyes to a world of new opportunities.

The idea of using technical skills to bring my creativity to life excites me. I have developed a passion for creative problem solving by bringing together functionality, simplicity, and beauty. The interactivity and the gratification associated with designing and developing a website, application, or interface drives me.

I enjoy writing clean, semantic code while experimenting with subtle CSS & JavaScript animations. I am always eager to learn; this is what inspired me to join this field! I look forward to interacting with new tools, and picking up new skills. My short-term goal is to gain more experience with React and fine-tune my JavaScript skills. I am currently working through a few online courses to help me achieve these goals and build a few cool projects along the way. Never a dull moment!

When I'm not working, you'll find me chasing sunshine, waterfalls, cute dogs or hunting down a sunny spot for drink! I'm an avid traveller and hope to visit 30 countries by the time I'm 30.
